Daisy

Sorry I’ve been absent for a few weeks. Thursday, November 9th, we had to make a very hard decision and help our little Daisy girl over the Rainbow Bridge.

Daisy had a very special connection to our family, especially me. My mother passed away on February 26, 2010 after a very short battle with cancer. During that time, my mother wanted to share with me some words of wisdom. In March 2009 we had to help our other Shih Tzu, Penny over the rainbow bridge she was 14 and had a wonderful life, but that was hard for me. One of the things my Mom told me was “get another dog, you have so much love to give”, of course I responded “yes Mom of course some day”, but in my mind I wasn’t ready for that anytime soon. Fast forward to November, 2010, my friend and teammate, Dena contacted me and asked if maybe I was ready for another dog. Her parents had a little Shih Tzu that was quite rambunctious, and since we had a Shih Tzu and we had 2 Labs would we be interested? Well I’ll look, but I don’t know! Yeah famous last words! So Dennis and I went to her parents house to “look”, well we took her home. It was very hard on Dena’s Mom and we thought that just maybe we were fostering her for a week or so. Well that didn’t happen so on Christmas Eve, Dena’s mom shared they got another Shih Tzu that was much more to the temperament they needed….Daisy was ours. I looked at the Daisy’s paperwork and low and behold Daisy’s birthday was February 26, 2010, yes the day my Mom died. So thank you Mom for sending her to me, but now its time to send her back to you.

Thank you Daisy for 13 1/2 years of pure love, we miss you but you run free now.

Sorry to hear about Daisy. I remember when she would sit on the back of my chair when I was stamping. She always greeted me at the door when I came over. I know she was an important member of your family. She will truly be missed.

  2. Reading this made me cry! Daisy was such an awesome little girl, and she was meant to be with you! It almost broke Mom’s heart giving her up, but she knew it was for the best. Daisy wanted to be busy and play with other dogs- she wouldn’t have been happy with my parents. But the second puppy they got was perfect for them, so everything turned out the way it should be! I think your Mom had a hand in it all!
